How to play

Reading the chart

35 worlds, a single free balance and the rules of the sea, set down in plain English.

Signing on

To sail you need a free crew account. It asks for four things: a nickname, an email, a password and a tick to say you are 18 or older and live in the UK. We never ask for a card and send no confirmation email, since nothing here costs anything. The account page has a single button that deletes the account and all of its progress.

The ship’s purse

New crew start with 100,000 Play Credits. That one balance, your rank and your ship’s log go with you to every world. Play Credits are pretend money: no one can buy, sell, hand over, withdraw or swap them, and whatever you win stays inside the game with no worth anywhere else. When the purse runs light it fills up again:

  • Free credits arrive every four hours.
  • Daily missions pay out in credits.
  • Each new rank brings a reward.
  • Drop under 2,000 and you are topped up straight away, free.

The chart and the ship’s log

The chart shows all 35 worlds spread across 6 seas. Pan, zoom and open whichever island takes your eye. Flagging a world enters it in your ship’s log, which is saved in your browser. It is a bookmark only: a marked world unlocks nothing and wins nothing.

Weather on the chart

Each world carries a weather mark. We find it by running that world’s actual game code for millions of spins and counting how often a spin pays:

WeatherSpins that payWhat it feels like
Slack tide40% or moreGentle water. Wins turn up often and are usually small, so the balance moves slowly.
Steady swell28% to 40%A middle course: wins at a regular clip, with a bigger wave rolling in now and then.
Spring galesunder 28%Long quiet spells broken by big breakers. Fewer spins land a win, but the biggest pay more.

A weather mark is about the rhythm of a game. It cannot tell you how the next spin will land.

Where a win comes from

All worlds use five reels in three rows. Lines are fixed and read from the leftmost reel to the right. The stake is shared equally between the lines, and each line pays only its best win. Scatters count anywhere on the reels and pay a multiple of the total stake.

Chance, and only chance

Each reel carries a set strip of symbols. On every spin your browser’s random number generator chooses where each strip stops, independently of the others. Earlier spins have no effect on later ones, and nothing shifts with your balance or the time you have played.

The soundings

The numbers in this table were taken by running each world’s own code for millions of spins. They are about Play Credits in these free games only, and tell you nothing about any game played for money.
